Welcome Lisa Stewart

Principal of North Campus

Chapel Hill Christian School is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa M. Stewart as the new Principal of its North Campus. Mrs. Stewart will assume her role on June 12, 2024, succeeding Mrs. Cathy Shafer, who will retire after more than four decades of dedicated service to the school.

At such a critical time in the history of elementary education, Mrs. Stewart brings to CHCS strong leadership skills with a passion for academic excellence and spiritual development. Eager to offer steadfast support and mentorship while fostering meaningful connections with the faculty and staff, Mrs. Stewart is poised to steer the North Campus forward.

Mrs. Stewart transitioned into education from the corporate finance sector. In both capacities, her administrative skills have proven superior. Having spent the past 12 years at Valley Christian Academy in Aurora, Ohio, predominantly teaching 5th-grade, Mrs. Stewart’s blend of academic prowess and demonstrated leadership makes her an invaluable asset to the Chapel Hill family. Mrs. Stewart holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Wilberforce University, a Masters of Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, and a Teaching Certification from Indiana Wesleyan University. Her journey from finance to education reflects her deep sense of purpose and dedication to Christian education, while her affable demeanor and relational approach have resonated deeply throughout the hiring process.

“We are confident that Mrs. Stewart will uphold our values of academic excellence and spiritual growth, bringing a renewed energy and vision to her role as North Campus Principal,” said Jackie Mathews, Lead Administrator for Chapel Hill Christian School.

CHCS is known for its excellence in combining Christ-centered instruction across all academic disciplines for children in preschool through sixth grade. When combined with a passion for local and global missions, students grow in all areas of life, preparing them to experience an authentic relationship with Christ. Our continually expanding offering of after-school programs, including intramural sports, videography, robotics, chess, and sign language help students learn a diverse range of talents while exploring their unique gifts. Annual competitions in art, math, spelling, writing, and speech allow our students to share their abilities on a local and state level.

“Joining Chapel Hill Christian School is a great privilege, and I am honored to embark on this journey of academic and spiritual enrichment alongside such a vibrant community,” remarked Mrs. Stewart.
